Thomas Haley is a Northern California-based multidisciplinary artist. He is a multi-disciplinary artist who works with paint, sculpture, and photography, often in combination. His work focuses on his perspective on the world as a disabled person. He examines various ways he and other disabled people are oppressed, such as by terrain, infrastructure, or society’s attitudes. Works like the Pathfinder series illustrate how transportation infrastructure can hinder rather than enhance mobility. The Wanderlustand Intrinsic series consider how nature causes inherent mobility restrictions for disabled people. Thomas is interested in expanding his work to consider ways he relates to society beyond mobility issues.
